Melco Precisions works to an ISO 9001 quality management system, certified by International Certifications Limited.
What that means in practice is that the things which decide whether a casting lasts — the melt chemistry, the heat treatment temperature and annealing time, the final dimensions — are controlled and recorded rather than left to the shift. In high chrome especially, the heat treatment parameters must be adhered to; a quality system is how you know they were.
Manufacturing

Melco manufactures castings in alloy steels and irons for heat and wear applications, with production setups in India and the Middle East, exporting to the U.S., South Africa, Scandinavia, Russia, North Africa and the Middle East.
We have world class manufacturing facilities with a product weight range of 5 kg to 3,000 kg per piece in our own foundries, and a capacity of about 3,000 tons per year from our two integrated manufacturing facilities.
We have in-house capabilities starting from R&D and design right up to final finishing, to provide our clients with a one-stop solution for all their manufacturing needs.
Melting
We melt our own steel.
Alloy control starts at the furnace. Melting in-house is what lets us hold the chemistry that each grade depends on — the carbide structure in a high chrome iron, or the austenite that lets a manganese hammer work-harden instead of crack.
From the melt through moulding, heat treatment, machining and final finishing, the casting stays with us.
